Body Area Overview

Every body area responds differently to liposuction. Smaller zones like the chin and arms involve minimal fat removal and recover quickly, while the abdomen and flanks allow for larger-volume contouring with proportionally longer downtime. Skin quality matters too — areas with good elasticity (younger patients, non-smokers) produce tighter results without additional skin-removal surgery.

The table below summarises what to expect for each zone, including typical cost ranges and the techniques most commonly used.

Liposuction by Body Area — Quick Comparison
Area Typical Cost (US) Recovery Best Technique
Chin & Neck $2,500–$5,000 2–4 days Tumescent, laser
Arms $3,000–$6,000 5–7 days VASER, tumescent
Abdomen $4,000–$8,000 5–10 days Tumescent, VASER
360° Body $8,000–$15,000 7–14 days VASER, tumescent
Men (chest/flanks) $4,000–$9,000 5–10 days VASER, HD lipo

Combining Multiple Areas

Treating multiple areas in a single session is safe and common — most surgeons will combine up to 3–4 zones provided total fat removal stays within safe limits (generally under 5 litres). Combining areas reduces overall cost, eliminates a second round of anaesthesia, and produces more proportional results.

The most popular combinations include:

  • Abdomen + flanks — the classic pairing, often called "Lipo 360"
  • Arms + chin — two small areas with fast recovery
  • Abdomen + arms + chin — comprehensive contouring in one session

Discuss your goals with your surgeon during the consultation — they'll advise which combinations are safe based on your BMI, health status, and the total volume to be removed.
